You are here to see who I am and what I am about...... Well, I am a mother to four wonderful children and a wife to a very supportive husband! You would not be reading this if it were not for Chris Goodrich! I grew up in Slidell, Louisiana and moved to Robertsdale, Alabama when I was fifteen. I graduated from Robertsdale high school and went off to college, traveled, and ended up graduating from University of South Alabama in 1999 with my undergraduate degree in Special Education, and then again in 2001 with my Masters in Collaboration. I married in 2003 and had my four children in '04, '05, '07, and '10.
Random facts: I am in my 40s, I have worked in Mobile & Baldwin Counties, I have been a volunteer firefighter, and I LOVE my special education teaching job where I graduated from 25 years ago! I love Coke, M & Ms, drink one cup of a coffee a day, eat 2 meals a day, and love to watch late night TV when everyone else is asleep! I am NOT a morning person, have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ, drive too fast, hate exercise, and love to do random things for others without the expectation of anything in return. I believe in hard work, doing your best, and actions speak louder than words.... but oh, can I talk! (I would be interested in how others would describe me!)
So, that brings me to how I am here.
I have always had a camera and have always enjoyed "taking pictures" but one day I decided to take it to the next level and take classes and focus on growing my knowledge in portrait photography. I think not having any more babies in the house made me lean towards newborns since I knew I would always be able to get my "baby fix" and create beautiful images at the same time. (This is how it started!)
Fast forward to two years ago. It was not my first conference, but I attended a conference that was mainly about Seniors and youth (SYNC). I fell in love and decided that I wanted to focus on learning all I could from the top photographers in the industry about growing my senior and newborn business. This leads me to where I am today.
I have been in business in Spanish Fort, Alabama since 2012. I have a studio in my home which is geared towards newborns, children, seniors, and professional head shots. The journey has helped me forge new friendships, and has brought me to a place where I am currently employed with a duel career in education and photography. I do spin a lot of plates to be able to keep the family happy, my clients taken care of, and to continue to be the best teacher I can be, but I just can't see my life in any other light and I am happiest with a full plate and a busy schedule. I am not one to sit around and wait for things to happen... I MAKE things happen! I practice what I teach my students. I tell them that in order to get where you want to be, you must set goals and be the best person you can be. Sure, you can't always make everyone happy, but what is most important is that you live by the golden rule and you TRY. I live it every day. I have good days and bad days and calm days and stressed-out days. Don't we all? I try to make your experience having your special moments captured as stress-free as I can. I want to not only capture your memories, but help create some fun memories in the process!
I consider myself a family portrait photographer and therefore with the knowledge of how to light a subject, how to pose a subject, and how to capture connections that can be displayed in several forms, I can be hired for any family need. I do accept a limited number of weddings as well.
